ParticipantHi, scoured the net for a similar problem, but can’t find an answer so thought this was the best place to post a question, if somebody would be so kind to help!
I have a Bosch Frost Free Fridge Freezer (Freezer at the bottom). Had it probably 10+ years. Recently I have noticed the ice cream in it is absolutely rock solid, so I checked the LCD display and the freezer is reading -26.
If I try to change the temperature, to say -18, it physically lets me, but if I check it again, its still -26.
Can anybody suggest what it could be or things I could check?

Sounds like a thermostat or thermistor problem but you’d need to start with a model number. 😉

Sounds like you might need one of these…

And have a read through this thread as it seems a similar problem but you’d have to confirm that yourself I’m afraid.

Hi, sorry which thread?
Also is the sensor easy to fit?

Sorry, missed the link out, this one…
I’ve never fitted one so can’t comment but it doesn’t look too bad.

Is there anything else that it could be at all?

Possibly. But I’m not familiar enough with Bosch units to be of much more help on that front. One of the others may have more insight.

Well I had a look at it, and if I ordered the Thermistor/Temp Sensor, I can see where it fits in the freezer, BUT the wire dissapears through a hole in the back of the freezer inside, and you cannot see on the back of the fridge/freezer where it plugs into or anything? So what I thought might be a simple and quick fix, has stopped me in my tracks.
Also, since messing about with it, there is a bit of frost now developing inside the freezer, not sure if this points to anything else?
At least everything is being kept cold, -31 to be precise! Is this possible from this machine or is the display telling porkies? Considering that ice cream has the texture of a block of stone i’d say it does!
