Hi. My freezer does not seem to be working properly. It has a temperature dial on the front that I keep setting to -20 deg. But the problem is the temperature and the dial after a day or so keeps falling to a flashing -18v or -16 deg. I have to press the fast freeze button regular to get it to work and stay at -20 deg. The problem is the motor does not switch on when required.
    Any Help would be appreciated.

An average temperature of -18?C is what is needed though. 😉

Sorry you don’t understand. It’s flashing -18 to -16 so as to notify you that the temp is dropping.

-18?C is the optimum temperature for frozen food.

If the temperature is rising to -16?C but going back down to about -20/21?C then cycling back that’s perfectly normal. You’re interested in the mean temperature, not the temperature at any one point really when it comes to the display.

If it’s not cooling and the temperature rises above about -16?C then you have a problem and, TBH, it could be anything without digging a bit more into it.

Are there alarms going off on it?

I think I’ve found out the problem. It was overheating due to being next to a condenser dryer that was pounding out lots of heat and the freezer did not have enough air circulation to cool down. So I’ve swapped the fridge and freezer around and found that both work happily now…
