Oven door was on the floor when I called to this machine. The small metal locking latch on one hinge had come adrift.

I refitted it and then slid the door back into place. However it doesn’t always close properly, sometimes it is ajar about an inch. If I open and close it a few times I can get it to close but it does not seem positive.

Is this likely to be faulty/worn hinges or the guides they slot into.

I did notice the door drops down below horizontal when opened fully.

Possibly hinges but these have a nasty habit of spring snapping.
My guess is that one of the hinges springs has snapped.
I would IMHO change both hinges and receivers due to age 😀

    Hinges 643913 for both sides
    Receivers 187963 for both sides

Thanks Greg. Both hinge springs appear to be very strong.

Is that number for the hinges correct?

Just checked on the BSH website and it shows 068487 & 068488 for the hinges, almost £37 each 😯

Part change Jim , part change, same for receivers also 😆
Price is about right but may come as a pair, showing as 1 unit whether thats 1 unit or 1 unit of 2 😯 😕
