Bosch HBN56M550 Double Oven smells of paraffin

The oven is 3 months old and whenever i use either the ovens or the grill a strong odour of what smells like paraffin comes from the oven. Is this normal ? Dangerous ? Do I need it looked at.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Have you done the initial ‘Burn’ as described in the instruction manual?
The elements (and oxylytic liners if fitted) are covered in a laquer when maufactured to protect them from atmospheric moisture ingresion.
If you haven’t done the ‘Burn’ then the laquer will still be present and will give the smell described, you may also have a little bit of smoke.
If you are unsure of the process in the manual, then give BSH appliance care a call on 08705 678910 and ask to speak to someone in product advice.
