Bosch HBN7050GB/01 main oven

Hi there, My Bosch HBN7050GB/01 main oven will heat up ok and then it tripped the RCD in the main fuse box. I flicked the RCD back on again and turned the oven back on again and it heat up and then, tripped the RCD once again. Could the problem be that the element is breaking down under load?
From my description, could it be the element, or have you any suggestions as to what else it might be and how I might test for that?
I am going to take the over out, take off back panel and then wire up the element by itself and see if it tripped the RCD.

Please don’t do that….live testing is dangerous and unnecessary. It will be that the element has failed for sure. If you must DIY then buy an new element first before messing….stay safe!
