This heater is for a bosch dryer wta4408gb/01.

Second time in as many weeks I’ve needed one of these. Both times i’ve ordered connects equivalent, made by Heatwell.

When I insulation tested the first one it tested 5Mohms. I was a bit concerned but once it heated up in the machine it went to about 40Mohms. (No call back as of yet.)

When I insulation tested the one i’ve got for a job tomorrow it read 0.3Mohms. 😯

I’ve just connected it up with 240 volts and whilst its hot the insulation is 40Mohms max.
As soon as it cools it goes back down to 0.3Mohms.

Has anyone else tested one of these before fitting?
    Would you fit it?

Masterpart’s equivalent (GJ34100 – made by Kaneta) fairs a little better although in every case I’ve found their insulation also to be poor. So much so that on every install I disconnect the earth wire at the terminal block end, run the dryer for about 5 mins before reconnecting.

Not had any recall (touch wood) in one yet!:duck:

Good to know Martin. I have re-ordered another & will be sending this one back. 5Mohms i can live with, 0.3Mohms i can’t.

    Ta.
