ModeratorOkay, they have different part numbers and one is black behind the latch, the other one is white but apart from that what is the difference?
Exact same size, terminals the same and the voltage/amperage ratings are identical, both fit different models of WAE. ❓ ❓

am only guessing here but later models user the instant open type of lock so is one instant and the other a 3 min wait
and if so you cant interchange them

Both appear to have the standard delay at the end of cycle. TBH I haven’t seen any of the small ROLD interlocks that open instantly, only the ones that have the loud ‘solenoid’ click. ❓ ❓

ones clipped in and ones screwed ?
does that mean the holes in the front panel are different sizes ?
the clipped ones can be a pain anyway got a home where they keep slamming door and it keeps dropping out

No, both physically identical apart from colour. The only reason I found out there where two different ones was because I had problems with one machine.
I carry the 631638 as van stock and have changed them many times without problems. I fitted one to a machine but it failed after 10 months which puzzled me a little but when the one I replaced it with also failed by refusing to open after a month I then checked on the exact model number and found the different one.The ‘apparently’ incorrect one did function correctly for many months in the first instance though. ❓

The only difference I have found is that the 00631638’s description includes the wording : ‘WHITE (>1200RPM) PTC’ whereas the other one doesn’t have this addition descriptive listing. 🙁

Don’t know the difference tbh but I will say that we have the top one 00610147 as van stock as that’s the one we use most often.

Curious,
I will just make sure I change white with white and black with black to be on the safe side. 🙂
