    Hi,

I have a Bosch Exxcel 8 VarioPerfect (WAQ24461GB) washing machine which is around 3.5 years old.

I have had a few issues with my washing machine over the past week.

    – Machine not seeming to get hot, even on a 90 degree cycle. I tried this twice and kept checking through the cycle to see if I could feel any heat. The machine often smells a bit after a wash (even when it has been cleaned, I have done vinegar and bicarb).

    – Softer tray not emptying – I have since tried to fix this by cleaning it and then putting some bicarb in the tray and flushing mid-wash with very hot water.

    – Washes have sometimes taken much longer than expected (like 2hrs rather than 1hr)

    – The machine has also sometimes been “stuck” on a low rotation with 1 minute showing on the timer – I have also cleaned the “fluff” tray and the pump seems to work as it can drain the machine.

I am inclined to buy a new heating element (and a more heavy duty cleaning product) and see if that solves the washing problem.

    So my questions are:

    1) Would the heating element be related in any way to issues not to do with how hot a wash feels through the door (I have read the door would not usually feel hot, but a 90 degree should feel hot at some point!)

    2) Does it sound like the pump might be close to a permanent failure?

    3) Which heating element would you recommend? Generic or OEM:

    Generic: https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/htr115- … er-element

    OEM: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bosch-Siemens- … B010HCP7XA

    Re: Bosch – issues

heater faults are known to cause Bosch machines to stop at one minute

also if it has failed machine will smell and programmes will take much longer as machine waits to heat then gives up

have fitted a lot of non gen elements to these and had no problems
