Hi All
new member on the forum. I have been having a problem with my bosch frost free fridge freezer. After it completes a cooling cycle a loud knock occurs. I removed the back panel off located in the freezer section. A chunk of ice was lodged in it. I cleaned the whole fridge freezer switched it on. It has been ok for a week. Now its doing the same thing again but not as much but is getting worst.
Web research points to a defrost heater. Is this the only part faulty or is there something else on the blink. I have priced the heater costing £75.00 from bosch part number 00668168 and £78.00 from parts retailers. I am wondering if it is worth repairing or replace it with a new fridge freezer with which make though. Expensive ones are no better than average mid priced according to the administrator of this website. Look forward in receiving positive input. Thanks in advance.
It does sound like a defrost fault but it does not mean it is definitely the heater at fault.
You could buy and fit the heater and still have the same problem.
It needs to have all the parts in the defrost system tested to find the fault as it could be a sensor or other fault in the defrost system or even more than one component at fault.
Hi SAMURI
Thanks for your response. You are spot on that there could be other component(s) failing. The FF freezer is working at the moment but still makes a cracking sound and every time fridge door opens the circulation fan comes on. That didn’t happen before. I am thinking is it worth spending on (parts) or buy a new FF. What is your opinion of beko FF. I am going to look at one at Local John Lewis tomorrow. I used to be one for quality that brands brought but sadly that is now a thing of the past.
