My Bosch KGU3201 keeps icing up. Four or five years ago when it was still under warranty it suffered a similar problem and a Bosch engineer looked at it and reprogrammed it. From recollection he altered the auto-defrost so that it worked on a daily basis instead of coming on once the door had been opened and closed a certain number of times (he explained that the freezer was designed for semi-commercial use and would therefore rely on the door being opened far more often than in a domestic environment). Hope this makes sense! He reprogrammed it simply by pressing the control buttons on the user display at the top of the fridge-freezer.
Anyway, all worked fine until I had my kitchen replaced and the fridge-freezer was turned off for several hours – it now appears to have reset itself.
Can anyone tell me how to reprogram the auto-defrost?

    Any help gratefully appreciated!

A full ENR would be required for this info e.g KGU3201GB/07 😉

    O.k. here we go.
1, Switch off with green button.
2, Hold down the “super” button.
3, Switch on green button with other hand.
4, The “super” LED will come on, let go of the “super” button ONLY when the “super” LED goes out again! (about 5 seconds)
5, Scroll though the test programs using the fridge temp select button.(P1-P9) When you reach P9, press again twice to what would be P11.
6, You should be looking at CF(timed defrost). If CI shows, press “super” to change.
7, Switch off with green button.

You may need to allow the freezer to defrost by leaving it switched off with the freezer door open for at least 24 hours.
    😉
