Participantlo all, looking on
http://www.bshappliancecare.com/Bosch/boschspares.html
for bosch kgu3201 gb/01 i see that the main PCB 095070 has the substitute 263782
Could one of the Bosch experts confirm this substitute PCB will take care of the E2 error i’m getting so i don’t need to replace the faulty evaporator thermistor?
ThanksApril 9, 2005 at 11:13 pm #130540sparkey

Yes emsee the panel 263782 will take care of the ‘E2’ fault 😀 ,.
you cannot replace the evaporator sensor it is not available as a spare part and is buried in the foam insulation.Regards

Update on E2 fault – I ordered the 263782 PC Board last Monday morning by phone ( Bosch Spares 08705 543210) at a cost of £119.85 !! including VAT and postage. It arrived next morning ! – my husband took out the faulty one from the top of the fridge and slotted the replacement in its place. All is working well now – hurray!!!
Thanks very much to Sparkey and BSH-Man – without you it would have taken longer I think.
From my experience of this ‘episode’ – I am not sure if it is worth buying Bosch again – their Service Department (on the phone and email) where of no use at all – just told me to get a Service Engineer in. I like to have all the facts infront of me before I make a decision which will cost me a lot of money. I bought a dishwasher and this fridge/freezer at the same time. The dishwasher broke down two years ago (again cost £100 for new PCB) and now this.
This forum is invaluable!! Keep up the good work!!

Most appliances are PCB driven these days and some not as reliable and more expensive than Bosch.

I have exactly the same fault.. Having read throught this thread I now know which part I need (and the cost!) but what I can’t find is how easy the part is to fit. My model is the kgu3201/gb/01 – can anyone tell me if this is a job for a reasonably competent diy’er? TKE’s thread makes it sound easy, but I just need to know a little more before I cough up £120 quid!
many thanks in advance,
jr

me again. I’ve just realised how old this thread is and I’m therefore not expecting any replies to my last. I’ve posted a new topic regarding how easy the board is to fit. Hope this is what I’m supposed to do, not exactly sure of the etiquette here (or how to spell etiket!)

Just to say a big thank you to the forum and particularly those contributing to this thread with a special mention to Sparky.
Had the exact problem and cured by the substitute board currently costing £123.
Thanks again – Regards

Hi All
Just been working on a similar Problem.
Discovered the following Error codes
E1 Fridge internal sensor fault
to fix replace sensor in fridge compartment
E2 Fridge Defrost sensor fault
to fix replace sensor buried in insulation behind back wall of fridge compartment steps below
E3 Freezer internal sensor fault
to fix replace sensor in freezer compartment
Parts are available from Bosch price today @ £ 11.84
Good Luck
Tools for E2
Marker
Very sharp knife
Pick (screw driver will do)Steps for E2
With marker scribe two parallel lines horizontally 180mm and 270mm from top of fridge/freezer
Next scribe two vertical lines 70mm and 200mm from right wall of fridge
(arrow impression on paper covering insulation marks the spot)
With knife cut into paper and insulation about 10mm deep.
Next dig out the rest of the insulation until the sensor casing is exposed. now remove case by sliding out of holding slots and renew sensor.
The rest is just the above in reverse order. Fill recess in insulation with expanded foam and foil tape.January 26, 2009 at 12:10 pm #130550b16ajt

Similar problem E2 on a KGU3201GG/01 faulty evaporator thermistor but Bosch say can not be replaced – so how do I get the part for about £12 and what is the part number please.
