I have a Bosch fridge freezer (Bosch KGV-2628GB/01) that recently started to work intermittently. I called out the local repair man who tried a replacement control board which didn’t resolve the problem. His answer was that I should call a specialist company as it was a more serious problem. I couldn’t really accept this answer as when the motor was running, everything was fine and worked OK. I decided to investigate more myslf and found that if I removed the board and linked out the mains input direct to the motor everything was well. I now have the unit running via a timer, on for an hour and off for an our or so. A crude way of regulating temp but for now it is fine. As far as I can see it must be the board, but as the ‘engineer’ tried a replacement I am a bit uncertain whether to just go ahead and order a board myself (on the basis that his board was also faulty) or if there is anything else it could be.
Is anyone familiar with this range of fridge/freezer and could it be some other fault? I have checked the resistande of what I assume are the two temperature sensors when the unit vis running and the resistance does increase.

    Apologies for a long post.

    Regards Phil…

    Hi
It will be the NTC sensor that has failed.
It isn’t replaceable but there is a modification to bypass it.
Please don’t be linking this and that as you may cause damage to yourself or the appliance.
The mod has been spoken of before on here so a search may reveal some answers 😀
Power off if you are to attempt any repair or feel free to use the repairs@ link on the left to find a suitably qualified engineer in your area.

Thanks for reply, I assume you are refering to linking pins 1&2, yes I found that, but wasn’t sure if it applied to my model.
I am a bit confused about the model numbers, the E-NR number on the plate is KGV-2628GB/01 but on line unerneath there is also KGV2605 and you say is should be KGV2620GB/01. Do doubt there is a reason but 😕

    Thanks again.

    Hi
KGV2605 exists in a range of models 😕
The one I previously stated as your model was the nearest to KGV-2628GB/01 I could find 😀
    Either way, same modification 😉
