The problem with this fridge freezer is either the module or thermister is faulty, bypassing the module with a direct conection to the compressor proves the compressor and system are OK. anyone got a wiring diagram or know what the thermisor reading should be and which wires lead to the little blighter. 😉

    Cheers Bob.

    Cheers Dave,
the module and connecter on this appliance only has three wires going to
the module. Does this appliance have two thermistors to control both the fridge and freezer compartments, will have a go at the thermistors as i think the two screen or common connections may be joined internaly on the cabinate. would still like to see a wiring or mod diagram if anyone has
    one available.

    Thanks Dave.

Looking at the picture on the Bosch site, it would appear to be one of the foamed in types as the thrermistors aren’t shown as spare parts.

Sorry, I can’t help with the wiring etc as I’ve never actually done one myself, I’m sure someone will sort you out though Bob 😀

On the same unit, we’ve just had one of these that’s had three boards in the last 18 months, all of them burn up. The customer has given up and bought a new unit but we are at a total loss as to the cause, no dampness anywhere near it, not outside :con:

    Re: Bosch KGV-3104-G/04 Fridge Freezer

Thanks again dave for the info,
armed with my trusty multimeter i am sure one of the thermistors is O/Circuit, placed a 20k resistor across the plug on the module and the appliance burst into life. 😀
i used to change the foamed in thermister on the candy products all the time, but i knew where it was located, would love to know the position of this little blighter and sort it out. but i will have to live with the mod i suppose. 🙄

    Cheers Bob.

Locate the three pin edge connector for sensors, the sensor wire connected to terminals 1 and 2 shoule be cut off about two inches from plug and joined together effectivly shorting out those terminals on the module. IMPORTANT do not disturb the other sensor wire which is also connected to terminal 1

    Cheers for that Sparky,
i had already sorted out that there must be two thermistors, any idea which thermistor is the offender the fridge or the freezer.

    thanks Bob.

Both sensors are in the fridge section, the one which fails is the evaporator sensor which tells the electronics when the evaporator has defrosted to end the defrost cycle, the other sensor is for the air temperature.

When you short out the evap. sensor the control panel sets it’self into a timed defrost mode.

There is no temperature control on the freezer side what so ever.

No sorry, BSH do not do service manuals, whatever technical information is available is shown on their Quickfinder CD Rom programme, even thats out of date, have not received any updates since last year, they say it is now obsolete but have no replacement for it as yet??

( 3 wires coming from pcb )you can get a mod kit for this fault from bosch, but basicaly as mentioned u basicaly cut out one of the t/misters at pcb and this will cure fault>your best to get a mod kit from bosch cos u get a handy wee leaflet with it which explains mod ???…but once you get the leaflet u wont need to buy another mod kit..

ps their is a mod for the 4 wire version …same as above cut out 1 t/mist…

but basicaly as mentioned cut wire 2-3

DON’T JUST CUT WIRES you must identify, cut AND JOIN wires together.

See my post further up in this subject or look in subject ‘bosch kgv 2604 g in another posting in this forum for further information
