Bosch KGV3120gb/03, fridge freezer
Problem is that the lamp inside the fridge is glowing very dimly. Fridge and freezer are at correct temperatures, and all seems ok otherwise.
I’ve changed the lamp switch & Control PCB but problem came back.
As Simon 46 say’s the glowing light is an aid to defrosting, it is controlled by an air sensor that measures the ambient temperature of the room and switches on the lamp when the room temperature drops below about 10c.
It comes on at half power to warm the stat up in the fridge if the ambient temp in the room drops below a certain temp.
It will tell you in the instruction book what this temp is.
The reason being that there is no stat in the freezer, appliance just runs on the fridge stat.So if the ambient is low the air sensor brings the lamp on half power,to stop freezer defrosting.
