ParticipantHello, i’m just wondering if anyone has any idea what a problem with my Bosch fridge freezer could be. Around a month ago i noticed the fridge seemed warm first thing in the morning. The light would come on when the door was opened but it obviously wasnt cooling. It wasnt making any noise at all. I tried turning it off and on a few times to see if it would do anything but didnt seem to. However, when i came home from work around 9 hours later it was cool as normal. It then worked perfectly until today. When i went to it first thing in the morning the milk and butter were warm. My wife mentioned that she thought she had noticed that things werent quite as cold as normal yesterday. Again, i turned it off and on at the plug and just left it. When i came home from work it was fine again. Im wondering if anyone knows of any component that is likely to be failing that could cause this? Thanks for any advice.

Hi Tonforty
I can only imagine that nobody has replied because the fault could be anything from this starting point
I believe the model is frost free so logically do an evaporator check to see if frozen so you can eliminate element, fuse, fan motor and sensor from defrost circuit?
If all normal then onto refrigeration circuit which could be leaking refrigerant or have a weak compressor or both !!
If all normal then we have the module left that controls temperature
So in brief you need to testing before getting more help
I recommend calling a qualified Fridge Eng from this site if this is all alien to you – bit of a minefield otherwiseDecember 9, 2015 at 8:54 pm #433490tonforty

Thanks for the reply. Its not actually frost free this one. I have recently defrosted and cleaned it out. I was thinking about changing the temp control module and hope that might sort it!

I would not do that !
What if refrigerant level was low?
Compressor ends up cycling on its temp. cut out ?
What you should get then is the appliance switching off for say 2 hours whilst compressor cools down followed by fridge staying on for maybe 6 /7 hours .
Even though gas levels low,the extended on time cools everything eventually even causing excessive frost in fridge
Eventually compressor overheats again and everything defrosts partially in freezer and fridge items warm up
Need to get some gauges on that compressor to see what is going on
If that module does not work will you ever use it again??? -
