I have a Bosch KSV28324 fridge freezer. From around 2005. Has been in storage a few years and we just inherited it (did not use it personally till now). Cleaned it after testing the thermostat was tripping on ok, incl the drain hole. The manual says normally it should be on setting 2 or 3 of the 1to 5 option on thermostat. Dial setting 3 gives only 10deg C in fridge. At setting four, getting towards 5deg C fridge and -20 freezer. Seems to have ice drops at back of fridge and autodefrost seems to come on a few times a day (ice melting when I look in, some drips away, some stays but doesn’t keep building up). Seals seem to be ok and compressor does stop as temp drops.
On first day of running there was one point where temp of fridge went way over 10degrees. Was afraid autodefrost had gone bananas. Seems ok now. So:
1) Am I worrying too much that I have to turn up thermostat in this warm weather.
2) Is it normal for there to be regular ice drops at back of fridge and regular (few times daily) autodefrost? Or is this again a warm weather issue.
3) Has it lost some gas?
I ask because we are about to chuck our old fridge with dodgy seals and shoddy door plus noisy compressor.
thankyou
