Bosch KUL15A40GB not cooling

Hello,

I’ve got a 4 year old built-under (integrated) Bosch fridge with 4-star freezer compartment, model no. KUL15A40GB. It seems to have lost all cooling power – the food in the freezer compartment started to defrost and when I put a fridge thermometer into the fridge compartment it showed about 15C. The fridge certainly has power coming into it as the light comes on and indeed I can hear the compressor “working” (although it doesn’t seem to produce quite the same hum it used to).

The unit was working fine until I decided to change the cooling settings from 5 (max) to about 4 a few days ago. When I first became aware of the frozen food starting to defrost the following evening I turned it back up to max, assuming that would be that but when I checked yesterday morning the food was defrosting still further, which was when I bought the fridge thermometer.

Haven’t been able to get hold of anyone locally as it’s the weekend, and Bosch can’t send an engineer out until Wednesday (not that I fancy the £90 call-out charge). Any suggestions for things to look for or avenues for investigation would therefore be a greatly appreciated! 🙂
