ParticipantHi Peeps
Hopefully someone can offer some advice please?
I have a Bosch KUR1505GB / 45 integral fridge which has been a little troublesome in the past few days. I have found that the food has stated to be a tad warmer than normal but noticed that the stat dial must have been knocked to 1 at some stage. So I turned this up to 4 and left it over night only to find that the fridge is still warm. I placed a jug of water on the middle shelf and left this for 12 hours and then tested the temperature of the water (7.2dc) so wondered if it was the thermostat??? So I managed to find the stat and removed the housing by removing the hidden screw i.e. the unit which the stat is attached to including the lamp holder (more out of curiosity than anything else at this stage).
On plugging the unit back in the fridge start immediately (Stat now on 5) and thought great loose connection? Tested the water again after 4 hours and this was 1.5dc. So adjusted the stat to 3.5 and left it over night as frost was forming on the back of the unit. However after another 12 hours it was back to 7.5dc and adjusted the stat again but this made no difference and was unable to hear it switching, so removed the stat & lamp housing again and plugged it back in and immediately the fridge kicked back to life.So after the garbled text, is it worth replacing the stat or could this be something else?
Not sure if this makes any difference, but the fridge is around 10 years old?
Your thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
B

Just a quick update the stat seems to work fine when testing it in the freezer i.e. it seems to operate and open and closes a circuit. When putting it back the fridge again it kicks into life reaches temperature and then turns off. I was unable to turn the fridge back on using the stat control and had to leave if for a few hours with the door open and guess what, it started again but then reached temp and stopped working 😳

It now seems that the fridge works and reaches 1dc and then switches off until the temps rises to 3.5-4dc (is this normal)
