    Hey guys,

Our Bosch Logix x8 has started tripping the RCD intermittently over the last couple of weeks.. the strange thing is it happens at any time of day even with the unit ‘Off’ (program selector in the ‘off’ position)

From reading, people seem to suggest heater or motor for common RCD trip causes, but surely these can’t be the issue if the program selector is ‘off’ ?

What are my next steps for troubleshooting ?

    Thanks!

i would suspect the mains filter as the cable enters the machine at the rear. you could remove the lid and disconnect the wires leading into the machine from the supressor. then plug the machine back in.
so now you would only have the suppressor in circuit and if it trips you have found it

    dont forget to unplug first

Ok – so a new mains filter doesn’t appear to have fixed it.. just had it on for two days, and it’s just tripped again (during a wash this time) – turned machine off, RCD reset ok, as soon as I went to select a program this time, the RCD tripped again….

    2 items on the list

    1 heater
    2 motor

Is the door opener an option – I only ask as that has been ‘clicking’ during a wash cycle occasionally (believe it or not when the Microwave has been on) – almost like it’s getting interference..

Big thanks Dave – replacing the heater element seems to have done the trick !
