    hi folks

    i’ve got a recurrent problem with a Bosch Logixx 1400 (Model No. WFR2866GB).

    I replaced the brushes 2 months ago with a pair the internet. Cleaned up the commutator etc while doing the job. Fine, the machine worked well for about 10 washes (over a week or so) and then a strong electrical burning smell started to happen part way through each wash. After the wash with the power off, i felt the motor which was extremely hot. I couldn’t identify any other source of the smell.
    so. . . .

    I replaced the brushes again, with a pair from UK Whitegoods – thinking that the previous pair were possibly inferior quality. Each time i was careful to select the correct brushes according to the Bosch part no. 154740.

    This time again everything fine for 4 weeks (~30 washes), but the dreaded burning smell has returned !! Ahh !!

    Any suggestions as to the cause and solution ?

    thanks

    Re: Bosch Logixx new brushes then burning smell

    thanks for that.

    i’m curious about Brush part no. I got that part no. from the Bosch parts list at:

    https://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop(bD1lbiZjPTAwOQ==)/bosch/gb/prodp.htm?eShopType=S&prod=WFR2866GB{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}2f01

    would the brush part no. you quote sort the problem do you think ?

    also what can go wrong with an armature that is temporarily sorted by new brushes? Why is the motor fine for a good while when new brushes are fitted?

    thanks

    has there been a slight clicking sound?

    one of the segments dould well have lifted, and they usually last a few weeks if you clean it well enough
