I have a Bosch Maxx 5 which was vibrating considerably. I switched the machine off and then restarted the machine, it went through the cycle but half way through again started vibrating and this time caused the circuit breaker to trip.

I shifted the machine to get a look inside and on doing so I found what I now know to be the (Bosch WVD24520NL/01) ”Sensor – NTC” which had come loose and fallen off (the plastic casing was cracked). I also noticed another connection had come loose. I put that connector back, taped up the sensor and tried to start the machine. But the circuit breaker tripped again.

I will order a new sensor and try again, but anyone have any advice to offer?

    Thanks

Time to break out the insulation tester…my money is in the heater for two reasons :-
    1. it’s the most common cause of insulation failure (MCCB tripping)
    2. if the NTC has suffered damage then the heater has probably had some extreme disturbance (usually foreign object damage)

Either way, the only way to find out is by meter…

As I did’t have an insulation tester to hand, I ended up just replacing the sensor. I tried to get to the heating element to check that but I couldn’t get the front off the machine. Anyway it seems to be working ok, at least for the moment.

    Thanks for the advice.
