ParticipantMy washing machine has started making a hell of a racket when spinning only, sounds like a B52 bomber!!
We thought it might be the bearings, as when you jiggle the drum it has quite a bit of movement. But we have been unable to find any replacements, so basically looking for some advise.

From what I can tell, it’s a sealed tank that you will not be able to replace the bearings in I’m afraid.
More details about them in this article: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/help/buyi … -care.html

My Bosch Maxx5 has gone wrong.
I wash once a week, usually @ 30 or 40 degrees.
last week I did a 60degree intensive stains cotton wash. Took a long time. At finish Drum & garments contained particles, looked like concrete or plastic body filler.
Drum was quite difficult to rotate by hand – felt some resistance. I disconnected machine tok off top and back, everything looks fine.
To test it I ran an empty rinse cycle,ok until the spin – some smoke in the drum when I opened the door?. I ran a small load load at 30 express, bit noisey but acceptable until it reached spin cycle – deafening noise and unusual jumping around. I was worried.
Again smoke in drum when opened the door, drum almost impossible to turn by hand – sounded like a grating noise, drum and clothes contained similar plastic bits and what looked like plastic gratings!. I am not using this anymore.
What is happening? is this repairable?.
Bosch offered option of expensive call out or buying a warranty, if not repairable I would get the instalment back. I am not going to bother having read the article about sealed drums! Also on another site a review where 2 Boxch Maxx 5 had been in for repair may 2013 both 5 years old and with same problem and broken drum shaft. Feel shafted!
Machine looks Ok, like new, at back and from the top. I bought Bosch for German reliance, previous washer was a Zanussi and lasted over 15 years. I am NOT HAPPY.🙁

The drum shaft has broken and the drum is now rubbing on the outer plastic tub hence the plastic shavings in the wash. Costly fix, requires new sealed drum, regarded as beyond economic repair overall. 🙁
