Can anybody help after my washing had finished its cycle the clothes were still very wet I set it to spin only and after that
still the same after removing item I set to spin again and got the get ready to spin noise but no movement so I cleaned the filter and set to spin again but now it doesn’t make the usual getting ready noise its just a quiet humming what do you think it may be ? any help appreciated also can I do a wash in this situation

if the motor does not turn most likely the motor brushes have gone and need replacing

Thanks for replying I want to make it clear that the drum does turn and could I do a wash to test if it will spin then ? also how much do the motor brushes cost if needed, how do I check if thats the problem, the machine is only nearly 4 years old and this has happened without any problems before out of the blue

no spin problems fall into 2 types

1 a component failure
2 machine cant pump out properly or balance problems

type 2 can be large items quilt covers bath mats etc that makes the drum out of balance and the computer will not allow it to spin in case damage to the machine. also if the filter is blocked the water will not discharge quickly enough for the machine to spin dry

type 1 is your component failure motor brushes etc. As these start to fail they spark and this may allow machine to wash but stops it spinning properly. if they fail completely

Thanks for reply, have since tested if it would spin but waited longer this time and it did, so did a test wash and it worked as normal and clothes were spun properly, keeping fingers crossed it carries on, don’t know why it didn’t get clothes spun enough before, very strange so hopefully nothing wrong with it, thanks anyway
