Bosch Maxx 6 WAE24061GB – not working

Evening,

Our Bosch Maxx 6 WAE24061GB washing machine has stopped working. It appears to have not finished the last cycle. Water was left in the drum which we have since drained. The machine will now no longer start. After selecting the program and pressing the start button nothing happens. It lights up as usual so receiving power. We’ve tried various ways of resetting and disabling the child lock but no joy. Any ideas much appreciated.

Hi Dave, no noises/beeps at all. Thanks for the advice. I’ll look in to replacing the door lock.

the only other scenario is the machine has locked out because the brushes have gone

The motor brushes would be one of my checklist items.

How old is the machine, or how many cycles as it had.
Twice per week for a year, then probably not the brushes.
Half a dozen times per day, every day for a year, then maybe so.

The machine is around 7 years old, probably used about 4 to 5 times a week. Possibly more when the little one was younger!

5 to 7 years is when we expect brush failure

Replaced the door interlock this evening and the washer is now working. Also ordered some new brushes and when I replaced them the old ones were pretty warn down so hopefully there is a few years life left in the machine.
