It stopped. So power disconnected and took the back off to reveal the drive belt was off?? OK easy to fix , but why was it off?. On closer inspection I found a dent on the inside of the drum – Convex – inward to the drum. So took the front off and inspected the rubber sump (which leads to the pump) cleaned out some gunk and lime-scale (I’ve seen the adverts but not bothered to add it at every wash, or at all actually). Took out the element so I could see inside. Now here is a plastic ball between the drum and the sump. presumably this had interfered with the drum rotation, snagged and caused the belt to jump off and caused the dent.
Question – should the ball be located down in the sump or just resting inside the drum atop the sump?

    Hi
Ball should be inside “bulge” part of sump hose.
I have never seen the ball ever snag a drum and cause a belt to come off but there is a first for everything 😕 .
The dent probably caused by a foreign object TBH.
Reasons for belt coming off would be IMHO
    1/ Overloading
2/ Poor distribution possibly due to brushes wearing (worth a check)

Power off of course if you are to investigate :plug:

Thanks Greg. I think it was the ball its-self that was the foreign object. Not sure why it was loose underneath the drum, but I’ll get it back into the bulge.
