Hi, I replaced a badly shredded belt on a Bosch Maxx machine which had flown off.

The new one lasted a couple of months before the same thing happened again.

The motor pulley is perfect with no damage whatsoever to the grooves. The pulley has no play.

Similarly the drum pulley is without damage and there is no problem with the bearings which is obviously well known as a reason for throwing off a belt.

I am at a loss to discover the cause of this problem.

If anybody on the forum can come up with a suggestion I’d appreciate it.

    Regards

    Washerdoctor,

You didn’t divulge the model number, which as you know is vital for full and frank assessment :lesson: However, on most recent models within the range they do have s-t-r-e-t-c-h belts fitted and unless you fit a stretch direct replacement (e.g. 264987) then it will fail pretty quickly, derail and strip 😉
