Dear all,
My Bosch has stopped spinning its drum in any programme. The pump continues to work and I hear the controller clicking away. The speed control has also been set to it different settings to no effect.
I’ve checked the circuit continuity across the brushes whilst rotating the motor spindle and get a reading, rather than open circuit. There is a speed controlling resistor mounted on the motor connected with 5 orange wires to I think the spin speed controller.
Checking this between the brush lead and each of the inputs I get
open, open, 0 ohms, 2.7 ohms, open. Doesn’t seem right if its doing what it looks like.Any ideas? and is this resistr part available?

Sounds very much like the brushes…despite getting some sort of reading accross them, the value of this reading is important.
Usually a visual check of the commutator confirms brush failure instantly…if it has a matt black slightly rough and pitted finish then the brushes have expired 😉
Do remember to completely unplug the machine before carrying out any work :zap:
