ParticipantHello 🙂
I have a Bosch Model WFF2000GB. The machine stops as it approaches the rinse stage and the prewash light starts flashing. I’ve checked the pump and it seems to have worn out (have checked and there are no blockages, the pump just makes a weird noise and the impeller doesn’t turn around).
The machine is around 10 years old now and has served us well – do you think it is worth installing a new pump or am I likely to find that this is false economy with a machine this age as other parts are likely to wear out soon:?: – it is used quite intensively, probably twice a day on average, but the motor sounds fine, etc
Also, minor thing, but the door release button has never worked – when you press the door release button nothing happens so you have to pull the door open manually yourself which can be difficult as there isn’t a handle!? – is this a difficult thing to fix?
Any help/advice gratefully received! 😀

The door should be easy enough, there is a wire link between the button and door interlock, either that or the interlock may be damaged.
The pump has two types, if you check the rating plate inside the door, the model WFF2000GB will have more numbers, ie /11 or /12 etc.

The full model number is WFF200GB/01 FD760150883. Do you know how I can find out the part number for a replacement pump? and where is the best place to get one from? Are they hard to fit? I managed to replace a faulty pump on an old Hotpoint washer we had about 12 years ago without too much difficulty but are Bosch machines more complicated?
Thanks again for you help.

The pump is here in the shop:

Not too bad if you’ve done a Hotpoint you should be OK 😉
Power off of course :zap:

… so I now have a replacement pump. Which is good. Apologies for what is probably a stupid question 😳 😳 but what is the best way to gain access to the old pump to replace it? I guess I have to remove the front cover – if so, how do you go about this. I can see the screws that I need to remove at the bottom of the front panel but how do I separate the panel from the door seal? Are ther any other issues I should be aware of whilst doing this (other than turning of the power etc!)

Lever off door seal retaining ring, remove door interlock screws and finally, removed soap drawer to reveal small screw in fascia panel, remove that screw then gently lower the front panel down and off!!!!

Lever off door seal retaining ring
Then get ready with white enamel paint when refitting. As there is a knack to it that comes with time. 😆

😆 your not wrong – I managed to replace the pump ok but had major difficulties removing/replacing the door ring thing and my machine now has a nice scratch near the porthole – ah well – at least it works now!
The sucess with the pump has inspired me to have a go at changing the door interlock. Does anyone know roughly how much these things are?

The Door Interlock (PartNo: 154077) is £21 but before you buy a new one do try see if it isn’t just that the Bowden Cable has become detached from it 😉

Would think that the problem is more likely stretched bowden cable rather than knackered door lock.
The “knack” involes a pair of bent nose pliers and a knee. 😉

Thanks again for your help. I’ve checked the bowden cable and is seems to be ok as far as i can tell… looks like it’s the door interlock afterall….

You wont be able to tell by looking at the cable if it’s stretched.
Basically if door unlocks, but has to be pulled open you need a new bowden cable.
