Our integrated dishwasher appears to be making an odd whirring noise when filling. The noise is coming from the inline solenoid. I have checked the filter at the solenoid and it appears clear, I have checked the impeller pump too for obstructions.

I have, hopefully, attached a file of the noise at https://www.dropbox.com/s/wnltl6d5at51v … r.wav?dl=0

The dishwasher has now run through a complete cycle, and I have just put it on again, and the noise still appears at the start when it is filling.

    Any ideas, please?
    Many thanks

That ain’t the valve by the sound if it, more like the drain pump or something in it.

Mm, not sure, as the noise is loudest in the cupboard where the valve is, and it appears to be vibrating similar to the airborne noise and it’s when it’s filling not emptying. (I checked the impeller and there’s nothing blocking it.) I’ll have to run it again and listen some more.

Try turning the inlet valve stopcock lever down a bit to reduce the flow rate slightly. (Assuming the water pressure is very high causing the copper pipework to vibrate) 💡
