bosch or lg?

I am looking for a new washing machine around the £300 mark and both Bosch and LG have entry level machines near this price.

Why Bosch and LG? Well I’ve seen good reviews but the BOSCH WAE 24165GB is I think their lowest prices and I’m told made in Turkey.

I also thought the LG 7kg entry level machine LGF1256QD was a contender as I thought the direct drive might make it more reliable – the motor is guaranteed for 10 years.
I think the LG is made in China – can you confirm this?

Anyway out of the two what do you think?

Bosch is like (for example) FORD and anyone in your neck of the woods can fix them and at reasonable cost. Tell them you have a faulty LG and all you will get is either silence or laughter…..or 2 weeks waiting for their local agent to call you…slight exaggeration in certain parts of the UK maybe perhaps, but you may catch my general drift. 😉

Well this local agent is there in 3 days – LG made in Korea.

nah ah, the 1256 and 1456 are now coming out of china from same factory as base spec samsung/amicas and statesmans.

actually cant fault the chinese lg build quality tho – only things that appear to have changed are inlet feeds and white instead of yellow installation sheets. so as ive been told umpteen times, a man. plant will produce a product only as good as is economically viable to produce… regardless of geography

as for bosch, meh. classixx these days are alright but not imo as good a value for money as the LG’s

wasnt aware classixx bosch was turkish tho?? thought it was still spanish… thought the turk bosch were tacticals ???
or have i got that back to front?

I know the direct drive LG’s were an issue in the past if they were not going on a solid floor.
