Hi there, I have a Bosch oven HBN13N550B – FD8602 , that has a lot of freeplay in the main oven temperature selector switch, about quarter of a turn. Ie if you turn it to 150 you can feel the freeplay up to 200 or down to 100. Likewise if you turn it to off, you have to turn it quarter of a turn back past off before it will click off. I have tried swapping the knob with one of the others on the oven, but this makes no difference. The oven still works ok, but it is hard to set the correct temperature with all the freeplay.
    Any Ideas?
I am an electrician and would be happy / confident to strip it down.

    Many Thanks

The coupling which the knob fits to will have broken. P/no 420601 – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly. I’d get a couple – they’re penny parts and break quite regularly.

Thanks for the fast reply Penguin45, I will order a couple straight away, are they straightforward to fit?

    Thanks Again.

    Re: Bosch Oven

Think I had to slip the control panel for access – oven out and top off IIRC.

Future seekers of knowledge are advised that this should only be done with the power off.

    Hi
Just oven out, lid off and remove locking clip off selector assy.
Ease selector/stat assy off mount ,remove remains of broken one off shaft and slide new one on.
Re assemble; not forgetting the locking clip and away you go 😉

I’m sure you will anyway, but remember power off first :zap:

Think P45 already touched that one 😉
