I have a Bosch oven (E-Nr. HBN430520B /03) and the fan has started making a very loud rattling noise which I assume is due to the bearings (note: the rattling occurs immediately as soon as the fan starts up). Just wondering if someone could please advise on how to access the fan (for replacing) and also let me know which is the correct replacement part that I need to order. In the meantime I was considering continuing to use the oven using non-fan settings. However, the instructions indicate that the oven is fitted with a cooling fan which switches itself on and off as necessary. Does anyone know if this cooling fan is the same as the main fan? Or if it is a separate fan?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Shaun.

I don’t know about accessing the main fan but the cooling fan will certainly be a separate one that cuts-in to keep the control panel cool as the oven warms up. As long as the cooling fan is working, and you can usually hear them and feel air being blown from the front of the oven, I’d have no issue with using the non-fan settings until the fan can be fixed.

just remove the rear cover and check the fan has not come loose for any reason

£185 – you’re not kidding it’s a silly price! How on earth is that justified?

Not sure if this one will fit – https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/354112027799 – but it looks very similar and is only £25.

you wont know till you try

i agree it does look similar but the shaft may be longer or shorter causing the fan to catch

did check all 3 models of this oven and all use the same motor
