My Bosch HBN412A double oven struggles to get the main oven above 150 deg C. I have replaced the main oven gasket, and also the temp probe/thermostat. The mains voltage is showing at 237v on load, above service standard.

The oven used to get up to 200 deg C no difficulty with the temp control light going out to indicate temperature reached. Now the light stays on and does not trip out unless the temp control is backed to about 140 deg. Fan and element seem fine. What next?

Could it be the cut-out that prevents over-temperature, and if so, where would I find it? Or do I need an engineer visit now?

A little bit of patience is required. There are a number of BSH engineers who read and post on the site and they’ll be able to advise you.

Re: Bosch oven struggles to make temperature

I have changed the over-temperature sensor on the back of the oven today — no difference.

So now I’ve changed the oven door gasket, thermostat and the max temperature limiter. PLEASE, I would appreciate some advice on where to go next.

There’s a couple of things i’d be looking at . Is the door closing properly ? i.e are the hinges still nice and strong and properly ‘klunking’ the door shut .
Is the fan running at full speed ?

There’s only one element in the main oven and they normally either work or they don’t so its definitely a bit of a strange one and unfortunately difficult to diagnose without proper temp testing

Is this not a multi function ?

If so it would suggest that instead of being used on fan oven its actually being used on conventional + fan and one of the heating elements has gone (either top or bottom) the common result of this is that the oven struggles to make it past 140c.

If its not multi function then I would go directly to the thermal switch unless the door is nowhere near shutting properly.
