ParticipantI’m well miffed at the recent series of Bosch/Siemens/Neff washers where, in order to take the front panel off you have to take the control panel off first. Why, in heavens name, did they come up with the idea of 3 extra screws to hold the panel on when previous series never needed it?
I wrestled for 1¾ this morning getting access to an integrated Bosch (WIS24140GB/07) just to change the door boot. Though it seems to me there just may be an easier way, and hence my post.
So, can I ask our BSH guys if it is possible to remove the fascia/control panel whilst in situ? Now removing the soap drawer removing the 2 screws behind, then sliding the left hand trim to expose and remove the third dispenser screw is easy enough. But the right hand side is held in place by 2 lugs that , as far as I can figure at least, need unlatching from the inside rather than without! Or could it be possible to swing the whole fascia starting from the left-hand side enough to release those attaching lugs without breaking them or the fascia panel? Or to put it more simply, can you yank it off without bu&&ering it up? 😕
1¾ it took me just to do what is potentially a 10 minute door boot change. Fa3ting about taking the friggin doors off the Rangemaster to its side, hacking off the top wood trim in order to lift machine clear of ceramic tiles, then soddin’ about with the LED lights connected to the bottom kick board. Cursing at the ruddy plumber who put the hoses in an almost inaccessible spot behind the waste disposal unit. And a floor as level as my backside trying to re-establish the machine so it doesn’t rock like a trawler in a force 9 gale…..!!!!
Not happy………..please tell me there is an easier way.:worthy:

Martin , i have two methods to remove the facia panel from the new models.
1. power off obviously 🙂 and once the door boot gasket outer lip is released , it is possible to put your hand up from inside to reach the clips and release them.2. If the machine is ‘slightly’ out of the install , insert a big flat bladed screwdriver between the facia panel and casing on the right hand edge and basically just lever the facia off….it will pop out !!!

Brilliant! (why didn’t I think of that? 😕 )…sounds like a blinding idea…thanks Paul.
Quick question for you if I may….Once the dispenser screws are removed, would it be possible just to swing the control panel out from the dispenser enough to release those latches, (Can’t recall which way the latches release right now. 😕 )or would they break in the attempt?

They would probably break , Martin . The RHS clip(s) need popping ‘straight’ out if that makes sense . There’s no lateral movement available when they are locked in.
