EMW don’t appear to do any Bosch PCB’s.

QER do list a large number, not sure of their overall success rate though.

PCB repair you say?……..hhmmmmmm?…..No way Jose’ (or is it Juan?)8)

Sticking 380 volts up it’s diodes, capacitors, transistors and eeproms will cook that PCB beyond any possible repair option I would have thought. It’s (how you say in Spain…..?)…..Maraca’d… 😈

    Re: Bosch pcb repair?

Was it that he got his megger leads on the wrong pins? (Spanish electrician unfamiliar with English plug perhaps?) 240v ac rms has a peak around 340v IIRC, so I wouldn’t have thought it would have got that upset. It really depends on how long it was applied for. 5 secs would be normal for insulation test. I should think it would be DC so it should have been “stopped” by the first capacitor to get it.
Phone call to either QER or EMW explaining situation would be best. They are very helpful.
    Mike.

    Re: Bosch pcb repair?

The Spanish spark will have hooked the machine up to their 380volt 3 phase power line Mike so the module is likely toast…!!!!

    Re: Bosch pcb repair?

The electrician was working on a new feed to supply power to wine presses and bottling equipment.Somehow he managed to connect it to the house supply.A mobile phone that was on charge flew across the room. The sparky looked up and said “oops”.
there is some sign of scorching but the client wants to go for a repair.

Are you psychic, Martin, or did I miss something?
    Mike.
Edit: OK, I guess you just guessed from the 380v figure. Must admit it would have been a long shot that Spain used 380v meggers!

whats the bsh price for a new module? or have you got the full ER no?

some of them are less than £80, direct, if you ask for trade disc.

lot less hassle than there back there and back and sending it to and fro to qer. i cant see much change from £60 inc P&P if you try to get it repaired???

    Re: Bosch pcb repair?

I just pronounced BER on a Bosch tumble dryer as the module is Ā£203 + VAT trade from Connect. I don’t know if QER do repairs on the dryer modules but in any case I’m still in dispute with them over a job they did years ago. šŸ™

    Re: Bosch pcb repair?

While on the subject of pcb repair I’d like to take this opportunity to thank contributors to the sticky section.
Before the Xmas break I did my first repair. Replacing a start button on a Bosch pcb.
Very fiddly probably because my soldering iron was too big but rewarding and profitable none the less.
Thanks again and best wishes for the new year
