The inlet is a good centimeter smaller – but I’ve improvised along with taking your advice 🙂
I bought the smallest bike inner tube I could find and some silicone sealant. I cut four little lengths out of the inner tube and pulled them one by one over the inlet into the pump with a layer of sealant between each of them, and then sealed the edges.
The inlet to the pump is now the right size, and I’ve tightened it right up using the jubilee clip as you suggested. Early tests are showing success but I’m still reluctant to leave the machine running whilst I’m not in the house 🙂
