ParticipantHi,
I recently bought a Bosch Serie 2 oven. It came with a self-adhesive strip which I’m not sure what its for.
I can’t find any mention of it in the manual. Am I supposed to stick it across the top of the door- and if yes, what for?
I’ve never seen this with any of my older ovens…would appreciate any advice!
Thank you.September 13, 2020 at 3:28 pm #471963electrofix
Moderatorit wont be part of a door seal as this would already be fitted
its more likely to be to fill a gap during installation
if you had posted a model i could have looked to see if i could see it in the manual

ModeratorIf it’s foam then it could be an anti condensation strip similar to dishwasher ones which would be fitted under the worktop.
Best thing to do wmda99 is to post up a photo.

ParticipantI have the exact same model. The strip sticks along the top edge of the brushed stainless steel fascia and will seal any gap between that and the underside of the worktop/housing the oven sits in. Hope that helps.

ParticipantAs a follow up to my previous reply, are you able to shed any light on the separate query I’ve posted (pasted below):
Bosch Serie 2 HHF113BR0B. Only had this oven for 6 weeks. I think there is a problem with the cooking fan at the back of the oven. After switching the oven on and setting a temperature, it takes about 20 mins before I notice the fan start to spin. Does anyone know if this is normal? I would expect the fan to start up immediately, or at least once the oven gets to temperature. I believe this model is what’s called a ‘forced fan’ oven, with the heating element surrounding the fan in the rear panel. I’ve noticed the element glowing bright orange while heating up and am worried about it burning out. Shouldn’t the fan spin all the time to simultaneously cool the element?
I can’t see anything in the manual about this, I look forward to your thoughts.
Many thanks

Moderatorthat does sound wrong
if the circular element is energised the fan should be as well
some cookers turn the fan off with the element these days because of energy consumption ##
you need to ring and aske them
