ParticipantGood morning all,
I have a Bosch WG254Z0GB/41, it is about 6 months old. The machine gets a hammering, on at least once a day if not twice. Yesterday it threw water out of the door and out of the soap drawer, it gave an error code of E30-20. I switched it off and set it to rinse / spin, it happily pumped itself out, but wouldn’t spin, the pump kept running even though it was completely empty. I ran a cycle and it kept filling up until the water level was halfway up the door, it drained a little then kept refilling. It then tried to spin half full of water where it all sloshed out of the doors and soap drawer and gave same error code again. I manually pumped it down and it completely drained but the pump continued to run even though empty and no spin. I looked into the issues and feel it is the pressure switch, I have checked the pipe and pressure chamber which are all clear. Could a faulty pressure switch cause this? I appreciate the machine in under guarantee, but for the sake of £30 I could fix in a couple of days rather that waiting 3 weeks for Bosch to con it? Any advice greatly appreciated. Many thanks Paul.October 12, 2025 at 8:09 am #493922kaibart

ParticipantThank you, would that cause those issues? I played around with the pressure switch and it worked to a degree.
It’s 3 weeks for Bosch to come out, so I’m better off scrapping it and getting a new one.October 12, 2025 at 4:38 pm #493924don
ModeratorFirst off do not play with the machine as you will possibly invalidate the 2 year guarantee.
If Bosch call out is three weeks why not speak to the retailer where it was purchased from and see if they can help?
With that sort of wash capacity which is about 5 times normal domestic use I would look at a more durable machine like a Miele which would last a lot longer.

ParticipantThanks for your response, I went for Bosch as I thought reliable. I wouldn’t butcher the machine, I just thought for replacing a £30 pressure switch I could get the machine working again, as with a large family we couldn’t go 3 weeks without a machine. As for the warranty with those call out times, it’s really not worth the paper it’s written on. I’ve no option now, but to go and buy a new machine.
Thanks for the comments.October 14, 2025 at 12:17 pm #493926don
ModeratorIn that case I would repair the existing Bosch and keep it as a spare machine.
