ParticipantI was fortunate to buy this machine recently at a 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} reduction complete with the extended free 3-year manufacturer warranty because there were some paint chips on one edge and a scuff mark along the side (which subsequently polished out but would have made no difference given where it stands). When the retailer came and installed it, they managed to crack the outside plastic cover of the glass drum, pushing the machine into position between the kitchen units.
Subsequently the store was going to remove it and refund me. However, it was working perfectly so I wasn’t keen on giving up such a bargain. They said it was not cost effective for them to send an engineer out to repair it but would order the replacement part (Bosch number 12028544) and give me a small further reduction as I didn’t have the correct tool to remove the screws on the door assembly to replace the cover.
I accepted this and the part arrived just before the holidays.Having looked at the schematic on the Bosch site, I am wondering if it is easier to remove the whole front glass bowl including the plastic frame and then dismantle that assembly to replace the clear plastic cover rather dismantle the glass bowl and frame whilst the hinge is still attached to the front of the machine, as I suspect it could be fiddly trying to hold the weight of the glass particularly when reassembling and ensuring the other parts are all aligned.
I’m assuming that there are captive nuts on the inside of the front panel that the hinge screws attach to?

ModeratorI would definitely take the door off as the repair will be much easier you will need to remove the outer plastic of the door then unscrew the inner and outer plastic frame then you can fit the part and re assemble

ParticipantThe screws are torx screws. From memory they are T35 screwdiver sized.
