    Hi all,

The display has failed on our Bosch SGI57M05GB/17. Now nothing displays and it’s stuck on the cold rinse setting.

Has anyone got any idea what might have failed? Is it likely to be the control module? Is this easy to replace?

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Leggie

Is stuck on that program and you can’t select another? Is the machine doing anything? Any noises?

Yes, that’s right. The machine appears to be performing a cold rinse although nothing shows up on the display. Normal dishwasher noises.

Update. We removed the control module from the dishwasher and looked inside. There’s a big burn patch on the back of the module; I say this probably indicates there’s a problem!

I’m guessing the problem is with one of the relays on the back (Omron G5LE-1-VD 12VDC). Is there any way of replacing the relay, or identifying what might have caused the relay to fail? How can I check which relay has failed?

    Thanks,

    Leggie

Generic relays are available through Radio Spares, Maplins, Farnells, CPC, take you pick.

Given that my second call Saturday morning was to to a similar machine with no heat, a short length of bell wire was wrapped around the cleaned leg of the relay and soldered into place, then onto the two terminals for the connector.

Hpwever, if you’ve lost the display as well, things may be more serious and a pcb may be required.
