ParticipantHi,
Firstly thanks to the experts on here who have posted some great diagnostics – and helpful photos.
Having (I believe) checked all posted suggestions about blockages I think I need to diagnose the drain pump.
In the wash area I have taken out the filters and impellor cover. The impellor seems OK.
The left side panel is off.
The float valve assembly with microswitches has been taken out, cleaned and replaced.
The short pipe to the sump is clear.
The long exit pipe is clear.
Water fills the matrix OKI have tried a quick wash with the black washer thing removed. (by the impellor – non-return valve ??)
The d/w is currently showing zero minutes – but a motor (pump) is still pushing water into the wash area.
Why is this ?More importantly, water is not being pushed up the right tube of the drain pair.
The level fluctuates a couple of inches as if the pump is weak.Could the drain pump have a blockage? If so please can someone tell me how to access it. 😕
Lastly, the top left corner of the matrix is still gunked (it seems inaccessible).
One post suggested this didn’t matter. Another post suggested that the top breathe hole would be affected.
How important is this corner? If it is how can it be cleaned? Thanks very much

Firstly, the gunk in the top left corner of the fill/drain matrix is nothing to worry about…it’s essentially an anti-syphon device.
Secondly, with the drain pump impellor cover removed, start the machine which will cause the drain pump to run then quickly open the door to see if the impellor splashes the remaining water about…if it does then the pump is almost certainly fine.
Thirdly, with the cover replaced if it still doesn’t drain then there is a mechanical blockage somewhere.
You have checked for blockages where the drain hose attaches to your sink waste? Other than that it’s a case of separating the drain line to find it.May 8, 2009 at 1:54 pm #286036Tarian

Thanks for the prompt reply.
“Thirdly, with the cover replaced if it still doesn’t drain then there is a mechanical blockage somewhere.”
Nearly missed the significance of that !
I hadn’t replaced the impellor cover etc.
Did that. Selected Quick Wash and it drained both at the start and finish.
Presumably there’s a pressure sensor somewhere.Anyway it seems OK now. Thanks again. 🙂

The impeller cover is essential to the working of the pump, without it there it cannot create the vortex needed to throw the water up the pipe, no pressure sensors.
