Can anyone help with a problem on my dishwasher -it’s just over 4 yrs old and is model SGS 3042GB. I put it on last night and noticed several hours later that it was still not finished it seemed to stick halfway between function 2 and 3. I manually moved it on a fraction and it seemed to work but then stopped again. I would be really grateful for any suggestions as to the cause.

Tricky one to diagnose from the information you have given as it could be one of several things that first need checking out 🙁 All you can do yourself is to remove the fine filters and take a look to see if the drain sump is clear of debris.

You could also pull the machine forward sufficiently to enable you to tip it backwards at an angle of say 45 degrees, to see if any water leaks out (have a couple of towels handy 😉 ) If water does come out then you need to call in us experts. Perhaps you can get back to us after checking those items ❓

DO BE SURE TO PULL THE PLUG FIRST!!!!! :plug:

…and perhaps let us know if the machine gets hot when it sticks, or if it’s pumping cold water around inside?

Thanks so much, I checked and cleaned the filter which didn’t seem too bad to me but when I replaced it, it worked a treat. I realise that I hadn’t been cleaning the filter as much as I used to,it’s amazing that something so small can cause the machine to stop working, I will be cchecking and cleaning the filter much more often now. Thanks again.
