ParticipantWhen the machine gets to position 2 (normal 65degrees) the water comes in as usual. However it makes a noise that I can only describe as a “water hammer” effect until the point when the wash tablet is released from the dispenser. This sounds like it’s every time the water is going into the machine. The control knob continues moving round as usual, but the knocking sound when it seems to be trying to pull in water is fairly continuous and by the time it gets just past position 3 when it should be drained and starting to dry the dishes the water/detergent mix inside has not rinsed away and the machine is still “full” of water
Can you advise what needs to be done
Thanks

OK After baling the water out of the bottom of the machine I’ve checked the drain hose and connection to sink. It was clear.
I’ve also cleaned out the matrix as it had some “gunk” in the very top of it.
I then checked the pump impellor after removing the cover– there was no obstruction in it. I then tried disconnecting the grey drain hose, sticking the end of that hose into a 2 gallon bucket, and pouring water manually directly into the tub, shutting the door and starting the machine off. The machine didn’t clear so after baling it out again, I then tried it again but with the black rubber non-return valve removed which was located adjacent to the impellor of the drain pump
The machine still did not drain so I’m assuming it will need a new pump!
After looking at the machine I can’t see how to get at the pump as tipping over doesn’t seem to allow you to get at it from the bottom.
I’d appreciate some advice – I’ve always got the answer from you guys when I’ve had other problems so can you help

Drain pump to fit your machine is HERE.
To fit, remove plug, door outer panel and lower front panel. Pull out the corrugated pipe (Clean it whilst it’s out!) and you can access the pump. It’s a twist fit with a locking tab.

Pump arrived – super quick delivery from WhiteGoods
Waited until today to fit it.
Thanks for your instructions – fitting was really straightforward as a result.
Have just run machine through full cycle and it worked perfectly
Thanks very much 😀 😀
