Bosch SGS4012 D/W underfilling

Would I need a pressure chamber or a fill side/ metering tank to resolve issue of bad wash performance. If customer throws in a pint of water it washes great she tells me. Suspect its gunged up but want to go prepared.

Normally transfer hose between pressure chamber and sump blocked and just needs removal and clearing
