Bosch SGS4012GB – water inlet hose..does it need a washer

Maybe a silly question, my DW wasn’t taking water in and found the base was, this of course activated the float switch. I found that the water inlet (at the rear of the DW where my water mains goes into the machine) was leaking. I took the hose off and there is no rubber seal/washer, should there be one or is it a simple flush fit?
I got the machine off a friend after mine died so he took it out from his house so not sure if there was a washer/seal to begin with.
Thanks in advance..and have to say this is a fantastic forum. I also just fitted a new door seal which I probably wouldn’t have done prior to visiting here 🙂

Yes washer required to seal.

Yes it should be sealed with a black rubber washer. 😉
