ParticipantBosch SGS43A22UK/01 dishwasher. FD8212.
Machine leaking from underneath the door. Suspect the float / reed switch level detection parts. Also removed the door outer skin to inspect the lower seal. This dishwasher is the plastic moulded base type with the stainless “goalpost” type cabinet sat in a groove. The front edge of the plastic base (where the lower seal is clipped on) seems to have drooped down or sagged….in fact the water level is right up to the sagged centre of this lip. I’ve never seen this happen before; is it a known fault? I don’t want to order parts if it transpires the seal or float will not sort the problem. The original seal is not in bad shape, so has anyone else seen this problem before?
Thanks,
Steve.

No…but had plenty with float problems!
The bottom seal isn’t actually a seal of course, just a baffle to stop waves rolling over so even if it looks pretty bad it still does the job simply by being there. The float sometimes leaks and gets water in it but you can usually see a few tiny drips in the clear section of it. Make sure you put the float in the right way up, can;t remember for the life of me whether the clear section is at the top or bottom though so make a mental note when you take it out.
HTH?

Thanks Clive.
The issue here is the fact that the lip the seal sits on has dropped in the centre and cannot be straightened due to it being a plastic moulding. I agree the seal is little more than a splash seal so I think I’ll have to try the float and reed switch to see if that lowers the water level. As things stand ATM the seal is the only thing stopping it flooding!Cheers,
Steve.
