hi all can anyone help me with this. the machineonly seems to have aminimal ammount of water entering it.the lower arm turns but not the top one.the motor is not turning and getting very hot…. i tried replacing the capacitor but it made no difference.
it previously did not drain properly so maybe it was thepump at first but now it seems everythings gone!…. any suggestions before i think of replacing it?

It sounds like the wash/circulating motor has seized up or is blocked in some way. . Was there any signs of heavy corrosion on the motor when you fitted the new capcitor ? It may just be blocked with a foreign object and there’s not enough pressure to force the water up into the top spray arm. When its working can you hear the motor running ?

thanks for the reply paul……no sign of corrosion on the motor and its def not running…..would a blocked impellor explain this though…?…also the lack of any decent ammount of water in the machine?… theres no sign of water being pumped out either …?

With the machine unplugged see if you can manually turn the vanes on the
rear of the circulation motor with a suitable flat blade screwdriver.

Sounds like the main pump is blocked/seized…this may free it.
Next step is pump out and strip down…
