    Hi there,

Have a Bosch dishwasher, Appears to be filling okay, however the the float switch in the pressure chamber activates as it is filling, hence it starts cycling, pumping out / in forever.

This has happened before, and the repair guy showed me how to clear the pipe between the pressure chamber and the inlet at the bottom of the machine – no problems there this time though.

The diaphragm that activates the ‘machine full’ triggers okay when I blow into it. Could this be the fault?

    Cheers (hopefully) for your advice.

Pressure switch is probably clogged – this chap:

    It all comes apart:

Get it all spotless and it will probably solve your problem.

    Power off first.

    Hi Penguin

I’m afraid clogging isn’t the problem, as I’ve completely dissassembled and reassembled the pressure switch.

2 questions: I’m assuming the pressure switch is supposed to trigger when there is enough water in the machine to start a wash? Is the float switch supposed to be a ‘fail-safe’ if water cannot flow into the machine / or if machine is full without pressure switch operating?

As I say, I’ve tested the pressure switch by blowing gently into it and it works okay and looks clean. The microswitch and blue rocker actuator are okay.

So where to go from here? Is there any other place the flow into the machine could be blocked? I’ve cleared the pipe running under the machine at the front.

    Cheers

Had exactly the same problem – the water flow into the machine was too fast and was backing up into the chamber below the Pressure Switch and triggering the switch too early before the water had found its proper level in the machine. Resolved it by turning down the cold water supply so that it filled more slowly. Try that. 😉
