ParticipantOn my dishwasher, now 10 years old the slides on which the top disk runs have become rather reluctant to slide out, so that the rack no longer comes out smoothly for the second part of its movement. I tried putting some vaselineinto the holes in the slide, and that makes it better- but only until the next wash! 🙂 I can’t see how to get the slide out to get at the bearings of the little wheels. Any suggestions welcome!

😕 10 yr old
It only started production in 2002???If its this appliance I think you need a repair set for the runners that attach to the inner sides of the appliance.
Repair Kit – 169467See spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for more info and :plug: as always before working on appliance

Sorry for the confusion folks – I am NOT an engineer just another David Miles, who is a confused householder! I’m afraid I looked at the wrong date and the dishwasher does indeed date from Feb 2003. Additional numbers inside the door say FD 8211 040032.
Looking at the slide assemblies I still can’t see how they can be removed. There don’t seem to be any screw heads visible inside the machine.
Is this anyway something I – as a non-engineer!- should be messing with? Is this a common fault? The slides do still work – they are just not as silky smooth as they used to be.
Thanks to all for your interest.
