ParticipantHi,
I have been trying to locate the setup instructions for the control unit in the above model. Can anyone help. I’m not sure that it will fix my issue but I would like to eliminate it. If it doesn’t work, I’ll need a new control unit and will need the instructions anyway
Thanks in advance
Martin

try telling us the Enr number and your problem
setup instruction normally come with new timer and are just for initial setup. one set it does not need changing

Dave,
The issue is the tablet dispenser door not working. It has been replaced so I suspect the controller. It stopped working sometime ago, maybe before the controller was replaced under the fire recall.I just wanted to eliminate any mis programming that may have occurred before I purchase a new control unit. Not sure about the ENR number, is that from the control unit itself?

The solenoid on the old dispenser could well have blown a triac on the PCB. The set up instructions you refer to are purely for the initial configuration and of no help in this instance. If a microprocessor chip has been corrupted there are no cures other than to replace the board altogether.
If the machine works otherwise it would be better to ignore the use of the dispenser and just lay a detergent tablet in the open compartment instead. Washing performance will NOT suffer.

I see the Enr number now missed it right under my nose but have you got the fd number
did a quick search here
http://www.repairaction.co.uk/bosch
I picked a random FD number and your Enr and it says it was part of the recall for fire problems
has yours been done ? if not check to see if its needed and I think they fit a new timer as part of the jobDave

Dave,
Yes the dishwasher was subject to the repair action and the timer was replaced. I’m now trying to check if the new timer was programmed correctlyThe FD number is 8309 and here is the information from the programmer if it helps

the programming involves pushing various buttons to change programme for various models. it does not change unless someone enters the programming function. I have not got that info as it comes in the box with the new timer but may be on the net if you dig around unless anyone else can help. but I don’t think it will alter your dispenser problem. As an engineer I would have opened the timer and looked for damage on the board where the dispenser is fed from

Thanks, I did open up the controller unit, it all looks ok. Contacts are good, no signs of burn out on the PCBs etc. I’ll try searching the net further for instructions as I’m wondering whether it was indeed programmed correctly after the recall. It was quite a while ago and I cant remember whether the dispenser door problem was pre existing that fix or not. I don’t think the test done by the service engineer would have tested the dispenser door, as I recall it only took a few minutes. If anyone else does have the instructions to set up a new programmer for this model it would be very much appreciated.

when your looking for problem in the timer the resulting damage can be very small. most units use surface mounted traics the are approx 6mm by 3mm and all that will show is a small hole in the plastic

Thanks Dave,
I’ll take a look with a magnifying glass but for now I’m just letting it run for 20 minutes then throwing in a tablet as it starts its main wash cycle. Not sure it is worth investing in a new programming unit. Might do though as I am very pleased with the performance of the dishwasher and most people tell me that newer units are not as goodMartin
